Cafe Topolis

Cafe Topolis serves its guests with a wide variety of mouth-watering Italian cuisine in friendly, luxurious and heart-pounding settings. A sumptuous place to eat out with friends and family.
When it comes to Italian restaurants, the Topolis at 37 Parliament Street in Temple Bar is the real deal. Even the homemade bread has the rub of the garlic. Its location adjacent to the City Hall with its adjoining civic open space places it close to a popular focal point for tourists. The location’s main advantage is being part of the vibrant lifestyle which is Temple Bar a 24-7 destiny for shall we say socialising Irish style.
Naturally, in the Topolis, the 12 inch pizza looms large on the menu which indicates a selection of 16 which are cooked in situ in their woodstone oven. There is real substance to the wide range of ingredients and the evidence of the popularity of the Topolis pizza range is being surrounded by customer tucking in with relish in a restaurant with 80 covers.

The kitchen is the scene of heavy duty cooking and diligent preparation of meals. A glance at the substantial nature of the starters is sufficient evidence alone. Much fancied are the deep fried mushrooms stuffed with gorgonzola cheese or the tiger prawns wrapped in filo pastry. The selection of meats, olives, artichokes and parmesan make Antipasto Misto a strong preference.

Jaipur

Come experience India through her world of cuisine across an infinite palate of flavours. An Indian meal is more than a feast for the senses because it carries the impression of geography, local custom, traditional belief and religious ideology. The result is an exotic blend of taste, texture and form that encompasses a wealth of regional specialities dictated by climate, location and culinary tradition.
Food in India is imbued with religious sanctity because it maintains life. Even today in many traditional homes, a token offering of food is made to the gods before every meal. It is also an essential element of the hospitality of any home, rich or poor. That is why a feast marks every important Indian ceremony from birth to death.
Our culinary traditions are founded on principles of Ayurveda or good health that originated over 3000 years ago. A philosophy of food that believes that man is, what he eats. Thus food was classified into 3 main groups: Saatvik foods that promoted spiritualism; Rajasik food suitable to a royal lifestyle and Tamasik food that appealed to the baser instincts of man.
The Ayurvedic health plan advocated a balanced diet based on a harmonious alliance of rasas (flavours) and gunas (therapeutic qualities) that were prescribed according to climate, season and physical temperament. This culinary legacy influenced the development of myriad food cultures including one of the most creative vegetarian cuisines in the world.
So be our guest and discover a thousand gourmet worlds in one country. At a feast of culinary specialities collected from the Indian subcontinent and recreated by our master chefs, for your dining pleasure.

Thai Orchid

The Thai Orchid Restaurant in Dublin's Temple Bar serves excellent traditional Thai cuisine, matched with a warm and cosy atmosphere. If you grant yourself the pleasure of dining in the Thai Orchid restaurant in Westmoreland Street, Central Dublin, you will end up by thanking God for one of the most ravishing elements of His creative genius – taste buds. The substance for nurturing the body is in the food, but the joy resides in the sauces. They may even surpass the gladness of heart imparted by the “new wines” from the wineries of Australia and South Africa, although in this restaurant Thai beer is equally popular. It is often beer for the guys and wine for the gals.

Food presentation, which is a practised art in The Orchid, allows patrons to determine the size of the portions they put on their warmed plates and also facilitates sharing which is the extra dimension maximising the pleasure of eating in oriental houses, especially when there is a menu worth sharing. Tastiness, which includes the mild or spicy aspects, reigns mainly in the sauces. There are 10 main course chicken dishes, but the crispy strips are a mouth-watering manifestation of Thai cuisine, and, of course, enhanced by the sauces especially sweet and sour. Rice is basic, but in catering for a wide range of tastes, potatoes and peanuts are available with chicken curry. Noodles too. While chicken enjoys perennial appeal, the Orchid proffers recommended duck dishes.

The Roast Duck enjoys the diversity of the choice of three sauces, such as honey, ginger and tamarind, and sweet and sour. Inevitably, spicy curry duck tops the list.

Beef enjoys a significant place on the menu as does fish and seafood. Pork is not neglected and vegetarian dishes are far from being overlooked.

In this restaurant, choice is meaningful. There are dozens of dishes from which to select. If you are a die-hard traditionalist you can order a Weeping Tiger. A what? Actually it is a char grilled eight ounce steak which has been marinated Thai style and is served on a sizzling plate. Sizzlers have the habit of uplifting the dining-out experience.
